Lochie Daddo delighted at news of growing tribe.
KARINA BROWN and Lochie Daddo are expecting their second child."I'm 14 weeks, so it's perfect spacing with Daisy who's three in July," Brown beamed."We hadn't planned to tell Daisy yet but she's not too backward in the brain department - the other day she came right out and asked, 'Mummy, do you have a baby in your tummy?' So I guess it's true you pop out more with the second one," the Foxtel presenter said."Loch's super excited. He came from a tribe so he wants a tribe but I think we may be wrapping it up after this one."Jackman the disco divaTHE wrap party for X-Men Origins: Wolverine was held at the Piano Room last night and everyone channelled their favourite ABBA member . . . thanks to a 1970s disco theme."Hugh Jackman and John Palermo wanted the night to be a lot of fun. They wanted to reward everyone's hard work with a party to be remembered," said event organiser Amanda Archer. It's rumoured they splashed out $50,000.Jackman, Deborra-lee Furness, Liev Schreiber (who was solo as Naomi Watts has already flown the coop overseas), Taylor Kitsch and even Baz Luhrmann showed off their daggiest moves.Drag queen Courtney Act performed Xanadu, and Wolverine cocktails flowed.By the time S went to print, Jackman hadn't grabbed the mic but let's hope instead of a '70s number he did something like Hungry Like The Wolf.Webster switches offAFTER 27 years with Channel Ten, Tim Webster is hanging up his TV boots to focus on radio.Webster is staying on contract with Ten and will occasionally fill in on the sports desk, but his focus will be on his 2UE show. The likeable Brad McEwan (pictured right) is replacing Webster and will juggle both the sports gig for the five o'clock news and Sports Tonight."You know I am all for sharing and caring but when the offer was made to me I was thrilled. To be involved with two shows is twice as much fun," McEwan joked. "And really I give quality as well as quantity."Here's something you may not know about the sports jock. He's an avid antiques collector."Everything in my house is about 100 years old, the only new thing is the TV, oh and my toothbrush," he said.Jonesy and Amanda's shiftLOOK out for a different side of morning radio host Amanda Keller when she busts her acting chops for SBS's new comedy Swift And Shift Couriers.Set in a courier office, Keller plays boss lady Amanda Doyle. "I get to swear like a trouper and I get caught drink driving," she said."I'm using Alex Dimitriades and Todd McKenney as my inspiration, 'My drink was spiked" ... with alcohol. Who would have thought?'"Considering it's SBS I thought I'd have to play piano with my top off to get on screen but instead I get to play a complete bitch. "I go in and sack everybody! If my mother hadn't passed away I couldn't have taken this role."Her WSFM sidekick Brendan Jones scored a gig on the show too. "I play the managing director Jonathon. Just one name. Like Madonna. And I'm in charge of Amanda so it's just like every day at work really," Jones said."Jonesey and I acting together . . . hmm you could call us Ham and Cheese," Keller said. "If NIDA doesn't call after this I'll be shocked." Deni movie moveHERE'S the first look at Deni Hines on the set of Bruce Beresford's movie Mao's Last Dancer. She plays Anita Jones, a ballsy journalist at the Houston Chronicle in the 1970s."How bad's the wig!" she said. "I had to create a background for her so I decided her grandfather set up the Chronicle - but she's sleeping with the editor and hopes to own the paper soon."It's Hines's first movie gig and she was nervous acting with Desperate Housewives star Kyle MacLachlan. "I only have about six lines but I was quite nervous. Kyle was really nice and Bruce is very loving and walked me through. I now have a huge appreciation of everybody behind the scenes. They do a truly amazing job," she said."Bruce said to me, 'You know you do this acting thing quite well' and I said 'Look out, I might take all the white roles'. But I think he thought I meant the white bread rolls," she laughed.Mile-high careIF THE measure of a man is how he is with his kids, then Peter Andre measures up well.A colleague, bound for Sydney on Virgin Atlantic's Upper Class last week, was surprised to see Andre and his famous spouse, the British pin-up Katie Price (aka Jordan) board in Hong Kong. Our S spy reports that while his wife, who's famous for a pair of boobs you could take shelter under, slept soundly in her luxurious flat-bed pod, Andre did daddy duty with the kind of aplomb that would make the Supernanny proud. He not only cuddled their gorgeous 11-month-old daughter Princess Tiaamii, throughout the night, but took care of two-year-old son Junior, who came down with some god-awful stomach bug and was vomiting and understandably grizzly."He was attentive, caring, polite to everyone and obviously a really great dad," says my co-worker. "I'd judged him as a bit of an idiot by all the publicity they generate. I mean he did have a pink pumpkin coach at his wedding. But the way he took care of Junior and still kept his daughter in good spirits gave me a new respect for him."shorton@fairfaxmedia.com.auA LISTDramatic openingAFTRS is opening its new school at the Entertainment Quarter next Thursday, with a black tie dinner hosted by Bryan Brown. Guests will include Cate Blanchett, Hugh Jackman, Andrew Denton, Gillian Armstrong, Claudia Karvan and Megan Gale, among other high-profile industry identities.Z LISTHot, hot lunchAndrew Upton and Jeremy Sims were supposed to be having a serious lunch meeting at Firefly last Monday but Sims couldn't take his eyes off the stunning book publicists at the neighbouring table. Upton showed a lot more control, probably because his missus could outshine anyone.SO SYDNEYCostly mistakeA PR queen was in Tokyo recently and bought a stunning ring - she did a quick mental yen conversion and figured it was about $2000. That night she woke in a cold sweat realising it actually cost her $20,000. The only reason she won't be named is her husband still doesn't know.MY PICKRaising the barWhy go to the bar when the bar will come to you? At Foveaux Restaurant & Bar in Surry Hills there is a personalised bartender service. A mobile cocktail trolley is pushed to your table so you can order cocktails from the comfort of your seat. Walking 10 metres to the main bar is so yesterday.
