An average day

Up by 6am, listen to the radio and TV news, check the newspapers. Prepare school lunches and breakfast for my boys. Out the door by 7am. Battle the traffic to Martin Place.

Meet with the executive producer of Seven Morning News and discuss news stories and ideas. Finish reading papers while Lizzie in make-up transforms me for on-camera. Read scripts, research notes, write interviews and check on late-breaking stories. On-air at 10.30am and continue to present afternoon news updates and live breaking stories.

On a really good day, I do a pilates class at the gym, then play taxi driver for after-school activities. Prepare mountains of food for ravenous teenagers, oversee homework, open a book, catch the late news and slip into the land of nod.

Your look

I love a well-cut suit, the sharper and simpler the better. Pants are easy to wear with a soft shirt for when you don't need a jacket. I take two pairs of shoes to work, one flat for pounding the stairs and the other with a heel for striding in a skirt and appearances. Jeans for the weekend.

Fashion philosophy

Enjoy fashion but don't be a slave to it. Wear what suits your body shape then adapt your look with the latest colour or accessory from the current season to keep it looking fresh.

Favourite designers

I love the Australian fashion industry and there have been local designers I've enjoyed wearing for years, but at heart I'm a real Armani girl. I also like jewellery by Nic Cerrone, Wolford for their tights and tops and Esprit for T-shirts.

Fashion obsession

I don't think you'll ever meet a girl who doesn't like shoes.

If you only had $50 ...

With $50 I'd buy a crisp white T-shirt and new season glossy lipstick to brighten up every look.

Top five things on your shopping list this season?

This season I'd love a pair of ballet flats and black opaque stockings. I'm always on the hunt for the perfect pair of black or grey jeans and a handbag that's big enough to hold all my stuff and I can still find my mobile phone in.

What inspires your look?

We have the hippest, most gorgeous stylists in the Seven wardrobe department. Their enthusiasm and stylishness is infectious.

Most fashionable destination you have visited?

Italy. It's something about the attitude and lifestyle of the Italian women, they seem to be born with style. Their fabrics are beautiful and the designers create with a woman's figure in mind.

Fashion dislikes

Muffin tops, anyone squeezing into a size too small and mothers who still dress like their daughters.
